Many lodges provide guides to guide you when you fish. They can show everything from how to tie your flies to how to cast your flies and reel the flies in. They take you to the best fishing locations and help you grasp the basics and the nuances of fly fishing. Guided vacations are most popular with newbies, who want to learn first, and there are many experienced guides to help you.
What to Take?
If you're getting a guided vacation, the lodges take care of your gear for you and even give you some gear if you haven't brought any of your own. But as all the experienced anglers will tell you, there's no gear like your own. Your own gear has adjusted to your grip and method, and it is best for you to take that with you, along with fishing attire and protective gear.
Now that you're ready to go on a fly fishing vacation, all that's left is to choose where to go. And, as you know, you've got thousands of choices!
